In one of my older posts, I mentioned that I will not be able to rely on my natural talent to cruise through college.
Throughout most/all of my years in college, I did not really have to study much to get the grades that I got. In almost all of my classes, I used common knowledge to answer all questions on a test. Someone told me that I have a very different set of common knowledge, compared to everyone else. That’s probably why I have a very different way of thinking when it comes to studying.
This week has been good, so far. I have had success on my most recent BUS170, BUS 150, and BUS141 midterms. Today, I probably had more success on my BUS181 midterm. Although I had all of this success, there is one class where I believe that my common knowledge is failing me, BUS187.
The teacher is very good. He makes the effort to stick around after class and help students. He is making the effort to help his students, and I thank him by earning a potentially lower test score. I have not received my results yet, but I’m getting the feeling that I could have done way better. I’m in good standing in the class, but there are not many tests and I fear the worst. Anyway, the worst case scenario is that I am forced to do the extra credit. I feel a little awkward doing extra credit assignment. I always thought that extra credit assignments don’t really show what you know, but desperate times call for desperate measures. (I make this situation sound so dramatic. I’m sure there are people that have real problems. I know for a fact that whoever is reading this is probably laughing because I’m getting worked up over something small.)
