<p>This really takes me back to my childhood. I was at the McDonald&#8217;s play land with my girlfriend and I saw a kid doing something that I used to do.</p>
<p>This little boy took a food tray and used it to slide down the high curvy slide.</p>
<p>I remembered that I used to do that and decided to follow along. After the little boy left, I took a food tray and used it to go down the slide. I forgot how scary the ride is.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>“Rehearsed routines lack the flexibility to adapt.”</p>
<p>A simple quote, but it there is much we can learn from it. Some of you may recognize where this famous quote came from. Originally, this quote was meant for an entirely different purpose. I&#8217;m attempting to apply this quote to other situations.</p>
<p>Think about this quote for a second.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s look at an example that everyone can relate to. Presentations. This is a very big problem with students that I work with. They have a presentation to give to their class and the first thing they do is memorize their powerpoint slides or their note cards. All of a sudden, some inconsiderate student interrupts and asks a question. The presenter is caught off guard because the question was either later in the presentation or not covered at all. The presenter&#8217;s train of thought, or flow, has been disrupted. The worst thing that I have seen happened is when the audience takes control of the presenter.</p>
<p>Often, I see very little need for students to spend hours practicing their presentations. To be prepared for the audience, they are better off without a rehearsed routine. They can have a structure of what they will say, which is more than enough. What is most important is actually knowing your own material. If you have no idea what you are presenting, it&#8217;s almost guaranteed that the presentation will be something like a reading session with your audience sending text messages.</p>
<p>We can even look at this quote in terms of dancing. It is much easier to follow the rhythm of the music when you are out dancing. A rehearsed routine when you go out to dance never works (choreographed dancing is different). The rhythm of the music is telling you to dip your partner, but because of routine that you memorized, you end up giving mixed signals that just throws off your dance.</p>
<p>Telemarketers have a bad case of rehearsed routines. Have you ever noticed what happens when you answer the phone? They literally read a speech to you once you pick up. When you try to say or ask something, they continue to read their speech. When they are finally done, that is when you are allowed to speak. Have you ever asked a telemarketer a question? Here is something interesting. The last time I asked a telemarketer a question, they said, “My sheet is telling me that&#8230;” Reading from a script tells me two things. (1) They don&#8217;t know what they are talking about and (2) they don&#8217;t care.</p>
<p>Here is the deal with rehearsed routines. They don&#8217;t prepare you for curve balls. In a perfect world where everything goes according to plan, rehearsed routines are great. We all know that this is often not the case. Let&#8217;s look at the example about presentations, again. A rehearsed routine can&#8217;t really teach you how to capture the audience. Most of the time, I notice that a memorized presentation lacks inspiration. Have you ever noticed that when some people give a presentation, you can tell who “wanted” to do it and who “had” to do it? Same thing with dancing. You don&#8217;t really know how to dance if all you can do is one particular dance done in a very specific way. Your one routine may not work for every song you dance to. You need variety in dancing. Rehearsing your routine with one partner will not work with another partner. In the case with telemarketers, rehearsed routines won&#8217;t work if they come across a customer that is very knowledgeable.</p>

<p align="left">One of the prevailing trends in society is that the workplace is, or should be asexual. By analyzing the situation from a historical and sociological standpoint, Vicki Schultz shows that the law&#8217;s focus on eliminating unwanted sexual conduct from the workplace has given more reasons to have a management project of suppressing sexuality. Schultz argues that workplace sexuality is not always discriminatory or disruptive and that the sexual model is too broad. Schultz mentions that Title VII of the Civil Rights act does not include sexuality or sexual harassment. The purpose of Title VII is to end discriminatory job segregation. Because of strict liability, many employers are prohibiting harmless forms of sexual conduct, without attending to genuine sexual harassment arises, such as sex segregation and inequality. The need to conform to the law has pushed employers to impose strict disciplinary measures that unfortunately cost employees their jobs, reputation, or expressing their culture in the workplace. To make matters worse, employers are punishing sexual conduct without discovering whether the conduct is linked to sexual discrimination, or not. The problem also lies with the use of the law when encountering issues with sexual harassment. According to Schultz, the law is supposed to help rid of sex segregation and inequality. Instead of eliminating sex segregation and inequality, the goal has been replaced with eradicating workplace sexuality.</p>
<p align="left">I agree with Schultz that workplace sexuality is not always discriminatory or disruptive. I believe that<br />
the problem lies with the law. The sexual model is too broad because of the way the law is structured. Unlike math equations, the law is not absolute and is permeated with contradictions. The sexual model that Schultz mentions is broad by nature to accommodate for inconsistencies with the law and unwanted sexual conduct. Unfortunately, having the sexual model broad makes the acts that result in sexual harassment broad as well. If the law and acts that result in sexual harassment were absolute, then there will be more acts of sexual harassment that will go unpunished. The problem with sexual harassment claims is that it&#8217;s based on the judgment of the recipient of such acts.</p>
<p align="left">Although Schultz does mention the effects of attempting to remove sexuality from the workplace, she does not go into depth concerning the effects on industries or companies that are already dominated by a particular sex. For example, Curves Gym is a company that opens gyms for women and only women are employed by the company. According to their website, Curves Gym is supposed to be an equal opportunity employer, yet only women are employed. A similar situation can be said about the beauty industry. One of my colleagues is employed at a local Bath and Body Works and he noticed that the company is very selective with their employees. Although males do apply for the position as a cashier, receptionist, or assistant, almost all male applicants are ignored. However, if the male applicant applies for a back office or a management position, the applicant is considered. The reasoning behind hiring only females is to uphold an atmosphere. According to his boss, females appear more nurturing and trustworthy than males. Although male applicants may be more qualified, the atmosphere is sacrificed. The difference between Curves Gym and the beauty industry is that Curves Gym acts more like a club for women, which makes it justifiable to have only women employed.</p>
<p align="left">Although Schultz explains that Title VII is only meant to end discriminatory job segregation, I do believe that Title VII can include sexuality or sexual harassment. Refusing to promote an employee because the employee did not adhere to sexual advances is a form of job discrimination. Such situations are legitimate forms of discriminatory job segregation because there is evidence of favoritism. However, acts such as expressions of love or office romance is more difficult to justify under Title VII because of the motive. If the motive is not for the advancement of the employee&#8217;s career, then it cannot be discriminatory. The law is also a problem here because the recipient of such acts determines if they have been sexually harassed.</p>
<p align="left">Ideally, to avoid issues with discriminatory job segregation in relation to sexual harassment is to rid the organization of sexuality. Although this option is ideal, it is impossible to accomplish because sexuality cannot be isolated and removed. A way to reduce the number of instances is for an organization to adopt a more decentralized, egalitarian structure that encourages interaction between employees. Such environment fosters the idea of employees relying on each other rather than having employees being on guard towards each other.</p>

<p>I will agree with this statement to the very end. Any way we look at it, our children are the key to our future.</p>
<p>Consider this for a second. Where did change come from? It doesn&#8217;t come out of nowhere. Someone had to see some sort of problem. Or, someone just had a different perspective. Mistakes from the past changes the future. Think of our parents. As children, there were probably plenty of things that we wanted to change about our childhood. Were our parents bad? No. Our parents just had their own standards on how to raise us. Children are on the receiving end of this. As they become parents, they will have their own standards on raising their children.</p>
<p>We wouldn&#8217;t have new technology or innovation if we were not educated. This education starts while we are still children. What&#8217;s more important that we gain from our youth is passion. As a child, I already had a passion for my current job. This passion and education I have received helped me achieve.</p>
<p>The accumulated wisdom that our children gain from the elders will help shape the future. As the elders pass, children will come to power. Eventually, change will come from our children. Whatever this change is will depend on what our children experienced.</p>

I&#8217;m hearing different stories of how families are being torn apart because of the loss of a job. Kids are beginning to lose their childhood. Children are one of the greatest riches because they will eventually become the future. They shouldn&#8217;t have to bare such a burden right now.
Anyway, I&#8217;m here to answer a question that I heard. Are people lucky to have the jobs they have, or is it an issue of true talent?

<p>I&#8217;m hearing different stories of how families are being torn apart because of the loss of a job. Kids are beginning to lose their childhood. Children are one of the greatest riches because they will eventually become the future. They shouldn&#8217;t have to bare such a burden right now.</p>
<p>Anyway, I&#8217;m here to answer a question that I heard. Are people lucky to have the jobs they have, or is it an issue of true talent?</p>
<p>Things to keep in mind when reading my response. I come from a background with many opportunities. Doors have been open for me. I just need to walk through them. Although I&#8217;m already employed, I continue to apply for other jobs. I&#8217;ve been called for interviews, but my current employer has been the greatest. I love what I do at work. I&#8217;ve created even more opportunities than what I&#8217;ve started with. I&#8217;m far from seeing any kind of layoff because of what I have brought to the table.</p>
<p>What do I think? I think it&#8217;s a combination of both. We should all be fortunate and lucky to be employed. The current situation doesn&#8217;t allow us to be picky about what we want. It&#8217;s not enough to be lucky to be employed.We can have as many connections to jobs as we want. That doesn&#8217;t really help us if we have no skill in what we do. We may know how to do the job, but we need to do our job well. If your own performance is utter garbage, no amount of connections will help you. It will reflect on your references.</p>
<p>What everyone needs is an employer that is willing to take a risk. Specifically, a risk on hiring a new face. That&#8217;s exactly what my employer has done for me. He took a risk by hiring me. It is in my best interest to never disappoint. I have tremendous skill in what I do, but I needed someone to give me the chance to show off what I have to offer.</p>

Shelby had a great birthday party. We all went swimming, had a BBQ, got food coma, etc.

<p><span>Now that I finally have a better camera, I have decided to remake my video with the Anime ring tones. I hope everyone recognizes what shows the ring tones are from. I already deleted the old video from YouTube. I&#8217;m a little sad because I also lost all of the comments that were on that video. I hope to get similar comments and ratings on this video. One of my friends heard the first ring tone and it reminded her of a night club. I&#8217;m not really sure why since I&#8217;ve never been to any night clubs before.</span></p>
